Treats

My friend C and I went to London today, ostensibly to see the Northern Renaissance exhibition at the Queens Gallery - it's very good - and something we particularly wanted to see to honour the memory of the history teacher who made the time and subject come alive. Of course there was also some time for shopping so there was a quick visit to Persephone books. C and I also have birthdays in the next couple of weeks so I bought myself a present - I'm so excited about these - the books should be the reasonably light reading I want at the moment and the bowl and jug combine two things I'm quite keen on (Persephone books and Emma Bridgewater). A very definite extravagance but I'm very happy with them - now all I need to do is find them a home.

    What lovely gifts to give yourself! I love the pomegranate design on the Emma Bridgewater bowl and jug.

      Oh, so do I, the bowl has been my favourite Bridgewater shape for ages, it's a really practical size and shape, and the jug is just so pretty.

    I agree with Claire. Lovely book choices and the jug and bowl look gorgeous. I've treated myself to the jug and bowl as well. I won't tell you how much the postage was to Australia! I just closed my eyes and waved the credit card. Still, I have all the books and I just had to have the pottery. I love Emma Bridgewater too so there was no option, really.

      I felt the same Lyn, and the timing was good. They are really pretty so I don't think you'll be disappointed and as Bridgewater is so collectable it's probably an investment ;)

    The design is a limited edition for Persephone and very pretty, looking forward to the books as well :)
