The quality of Anne C...Just had to comment on this. The quality of Anne Cleeves comes over as she doesn't have to resort to sex and swearing! I read the first four Shetand books and they are incredible in my opinion and the TV didn't do too bad a job of transposing it to the screen, however I feel the later adaptations have gone for a more 'action packed movie for 15 year olds' approach, that has put me off reading the rest of the series. But I haven't continued the series, or sub-consciously <i>discontinued</i> it either. <br /><br />Like you, I tend to enjoy more of the "whodunit" type - mystery in the way of the 'golden age' of mystery fiction.
