Forgivable if it had been humorous, but again, not so much.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011557877105021955.post-22140636568310015862010-05-11T22:07:38.737+01:002010-05-11T22:07:38.737+01:00It was so lovely to meet you Hayley! Sorry we didn't have much chance to chat - next time!<br />This hasn't really appealed to me I must say - I've read a lot of negative reviews about it not actually being that funny. I'm interested in what you say about her having written some other, better, books - I'm off to find out more on wikipedia!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011557877105021955.post-34069094492115241972010-05-09T21:28:08.179+01:002010-05-09T21:28:08.179+01:00High expectations are the devil! I always think Dorothy L Sayers 'Gausy Night' is good for background on women's education - if you don't know it, it's a murder mystery set in a women's college in the 1930's. It always amazes (and depresses) me how long it took for women's education to gain any sort of parity. I believe Cambridge still had Male only colleges into the 1980's!Desperate Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15708411387912078122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8011557877105021955.post-82157205148761260222010-05-09T20:08:14.437+01:002010-05-09T20:08:14.437+01:00I'd like to learn more of the early days of wo...I'd like to learn more of the early days of women at uni so will definitely add this one to my list thanks to your intriguing review!
